WIX Or WordPress For Lifestyle Blog With Ads And Affiliate Marketing? Looking for advice from you savy professionals!! I’d like to start a lifestyle blog that can be monetized with ads and affiliate marketing. I’m a newbie to web building so I’d like to start with something easy like SquareSpace or Wix, but I keep reading that they’re not good for SEO and not sure if this is old data or still current. WordPress seems to be the universal favorite, but I’ll need a builder like a drag and drop page builder. What do you smart people recommend?? Thank you!!
WordPress is really not as hard as it seems. It’s quite intuitive and can be really powerful! I used WIX for the first few sites I built for clients and I really wish I hadn’t. They’re a pain in the butt to keep up to date, but they’re alright if it’s just a static site. Static sites do NOT do well for SEO purposes though.
Its not true that a drag and drop builder won’t get good SEO, my site does just fine. Most people that use drag and drop sites don’t have good content. If you make an effort to post quality content you’ll do just fine with a drag and drop builder.
So I suggest WordPress since you can take the information with you at any time. I don’t like my website being tied to a specific company like Wix or Squarespace. You also don’t need anything fancy at first. Install a nice theme and you’re good to go. The reason why a lot of beginners hate WordPress is because they want to be a designer.
If your budget permits, i recommend hire a web designer from PeoplePerHour and focus on creating contents and blog posts. web designing is time consuming and every second costs you dollars. Just my two cents. You can also contact us to talk more about your web design task.
